Flying Fishbone - Aruba

Why we chose it

Before our trip, I emailed Flying Fishbone to request a New Year's Eve reservation and to explain my son’s food allergies, asking whether accommodations would be possible. They responded that they could accommodate his allergies, but unfortunately, not on NYE. As always, we still confirmed details in person, asked questions about ingredients and preparation, and made choices that felt right for us on that visit.

Our experience

Flying Fishbone is a beachfront restaurant in Aruba, known for dining with your feet in the sand or even in the water. I couldn’t wait to surprise my family with dinner there. From the moment we sat down, we felt at ease. Our waiter came to the table already aware of my son’s food allergies — before even pouring a glass of water — which immediately put us at ease. He was knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely kind, answering questions without hesitation and making sure the kitchen understood our needs. The food was delicious. My son ordered the surf-and-turf and truly enjoyed every bite, which, as allergy parents know, is not something we ever take for granted. Sitting at the table with our feet in the sand and that beautiful Aruba view, it felt like one of those moments when all the planning, emailing, and researching was worthwhile.
