After months of researching restaurants in Costa Rica, Jalapas stood out due to its simple, protein-forward menu and strong local reputation. They focus on fresh ingredients, and speaking with the owner when making the reservation also put my mind at ease.

Our experience

Jalapas is family-owned and sits high in the hills with beautiful views of Arenal Volcano. The setting alone made the drive worth it. It felt rustic and authentic — a relaxed dinner with incredible scenery to start our Costa Rica adventure.
